General Information
The National Atmospheric Deposition Program (NADP) will hold its 28th annual technical
meeting on 27-30 September 2005 at the Snow King Resort in Jackson, Wyoming.
An optional field trip to Grand Teton National Park will occur on Friday,
30 September.
About the NADP:
The NADP is an internationally recognized long-term monitoring network that provides high-quality
measurements of precipitation chemistry in order to evaluate temporal trends and geographic distributions
of atmospheric chemical deposition; support research on the potential impacts of deposition on terrestrial
and aquatic ecosystems; assess the deposition of total mercury in precipitation; and to examine pollutant
source/receptor relationships and evaluate new methodologies.
About the meeting: The meeting is intended for scientists, land managers, policy-makers, and students interested in air quality, atmospheric deposition, the effects of airborne constituents on natural and
cultural resources, and the protection of these resources. The annual NADP Technical Committee Meeting, which is open
to all, convenes Wednesday morning; technical sessions with speakers will follow and continue through Thursday.
A poster session and reception will be held on Wednesday evening and an optional field trip to Grand Teton National
Park is planned for Friday, 30 September 2005. Abstracts for oral and poster presentations are invited on all aspects of
atmospheric deposition research and policy, and specifically on the following topics:
- Critical Loads: Assessing Atmospheric Deposition to Ecosystems
- Estimating Total Deposition: Measurements and Models
- Ecological Effects of Atmospheric Deposition
- Mercury in the Air and in the Environment
- NADP’s AIRMoN Network: Using Daily Deposition Data
Call for Abstracts:
Abstracts are invited for oral and poster presentations on the above topics
but also on other aspects of atmospheric deposition research and policy. Send titles and abstracts
(up to 500 words - one page limit), including author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), mailing address(es),
presentation preference (oral or poster), telephone number and e-mail address of the corresponding author
to Kathy Douglas.
