About the NADP: The NADP is an internationally recognized long-term monitoring network that provides high-quality measurements of precipitation chemistry in order to evaluate temporal trends and geographic distributions of atmospheric chemical deposition; support research on the potential impacts of deposition on terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems; assess the deposition of total mercury in precipitation; and to examine pollutant source/receptor relationships and evaluate new methodologies.
About the Meeting: The meeting is intended for scientists, land managers, policy-makers and students interested in air quality, atmospheric deposition, the effects of airborne constituents on natural and cultural resources, and the protection of these resources. The annual NADP Technical Committee Meeting, which is open to all, convenes Wednesday morning. Technical sessions with speakers will follow and continue through Thursday. A poster session and reception will be held on Wednesday evening and an optional presentation at Nauticus of Science on a Sphere is planned for Thursday evening. Abstracts for oral and poster presentations are invited on all aspects of atmospheric deposition research and policy, and especially on the following topics:
- Importance of Atmospheric Deposition in Urban Runoff
- Estimating Wet and Dry Deposition in Coastal Environments
- Effects of Deposited Pollutants in Marine Ecosystems
- Estimating Local Mercury Deposition and Effects
